If you’ve been cycling for years and know what you’re doing, you don’t need these cycling safety tips – or do you?!
Sometimes, public authorities do a good job for us with little fanfare and a lot of professionalism. I think that this video from the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) falls into that category.
If I had kids – I’d be getting them to watch this at least twice before they set out on the road – these lessons are invaluable, and exposure at a young age will STICK! They bgin with critical aspects of bike-fit and safety equipment (helmets) and go on from there. Also covered are good (essential!) habits for checking lights, brakes and so on as well as good road-etiquette.
So if you’re about to get on board for the first time, or your kids are about to get their first bikes – this is a great resource!
